Things to Do
Nampa has so many opportunities for you to experience here that you will be left wanting to come back and try something else. Take a look below at all the different things to do.
Dog Friendly Parks in Nampa
Nestled in the Treasure Valley of Idaho is Nampa, Idaho—a picturesque town with sprawling vineyards, a historic downtown, a vibrant farmers market and, of course, plenty of dog-friendly parks.
Amity Dog Park
This six-acre dog park is a local favorite due to its large size, extensive grassy areas and walking trails. Welcoming dogs of all sizes, Amity Dog Park features benches, drinking fountains (for both humans and dogs), shaded areas, restrooms and a swimming pond for those water-loving pooches! Separate areas are available for large, small and senior dogs.
Address: 2900 2nd Street South
Huckleberry Dog Park
Beat the heat at the new Huckleberry Dog Park! Your pup can enjoy a tree-themed water misting station to help keep them cool on hot days, as well as many paved walking loops, open grass play areas and shaded spots. This nearly 10-acre park, which opened in June 2024, is ADA-accessible.
Address: 11370 Smith Avenue
Lake Lowell Park
Located on the Upper Dam (east side) of Lake Lowell, Lake Lowell Park is the perfect escape for a picnic, a round of disc golf or even swimming. Your four-legged friends are welcome as long as they stay on a six-foot leash. Take a stroll along the Story Trail, a pathway that displays storybooks on reading platforms from May to October. There are no day-use fees at this park.
Address: 12996 Iowa Avenue
West Park
Home to Nampa’s first softball complex, West Park is a 44-acre sports hub with ample picnic areas, sand volleyball courts, disc golf, playground equipment and more. Take your leashed pup on a leisurely walk along West Park Trail, a mile-long pathway that traces the park.
Address: 27 South Park Drive
Pet-Friendly Foodie Adventures
After plenty of play at the park (and meeting new friends), it’s time to chow down and fuel up. Explore these popular Nampa restaurants that feature dog-friendly patios.
- Located in downtown Nampa, PreFunk Beer Bar is the area’s premiere growler fill station and craft beer bar. Grab a cold stout, IPA, sour or cider, then relax on the dog-friendly patio. Feeling hungry? PreFunk allows outside food, so grab a slice of pizza from Messenger Pizza right next door!
- Serving up house-roasted coffee and scratch-made pastries, the Flying M Coffee Garage is located in a renovated 1960s Firestone garage. Don’t forget to visit the gift shop before heading to the patio!
- Located a short drive in Meridian, Moe Joe’s Breakfast Eatery is a favorite for southern favorites with a Tex-Mex influence. Opt for classic chilaquiles or try the drenched jalapeno berry pancakes. Their pancakes and french toast can be made gluten-free, too.
- Bonus: Food trucks and furry friends … What could better? Bring fido to Lloyd Square Park for the Food Truck Rally Goes to the Dogs event—a tail-wagging good time with tasty food, live music, vendors and beer. Best of all, the proceeds from the rally go towards improving Amity Dog Park and Huckleberry Dog Park.
